Episode 4: The Sandlot

We are coming up on one of my favorite times of the year. The days are now noticeably longer, the sun seems to be out more than it’s not, and the temperatures are getting warmer. This is the beginning of spring, and this leads into summer. one of the movies I remember from growing up that just always reminded me of what summer felt like was The Sandlot. With all their adventures and hijinks, this group of kids reminds me of what my summers were like. Just without, you know, all that baseball.

Episode 3: Geeky Parenting

One of the earliest panels I had the privilege of participating on at a Salt Lake Comic Convention event was on geeky parenting. This idea, that we as geeks would like to share what we love, what we are passionate about with the next generation of geeks, and raise them up right. Geeky parenting is all about that. How do we do it? How do we help our kids develop their own loves and passions.

The Geeky Mormon Presents…Episode 1: The Geeky Mormon

I know I have been teasing this for a few months now, and as a result of the work I have been  doing to get this off the ground, I have not done much of anything on the blog. However, after all that time and effort, episode one is here.

I thought I would take this opportunity to talk very briefly about what this podcast will be. I decided to call it The Geeky Mormon Presents… because each week I will be picking a new topic to present to you. These topics will range from movies to TV shows to books to graphic novels and beyond. Whatever sounds like fun to talk about.

What would be awesome, though, is to get some feedback from all of you on different topics you would like to see covered, or different questions you might have. That would make things more interesting, I think.

It is a scary thing to put myself out there in this way. It doesn’t seem like it should be, but honestly I was terrified to do this. I want to do a good job, and I want this to be a podcast you all enjoy and something I could be proud of. To that end, I need your feedback and suggestions on what I could do better with the show. I think with your help, I could make this a great weekly show.

Thank you for your patience as I have been putting this all together, and I appreciate all your support. If you like the show, please leave a positive review once it is on iTunes or Stitcher or Google Play. That will help other people to find the show and it will help us to grow our community.

Thank you all again, and I hope you enjoy the show and the episodes to follow.

A New First Post

This is going to be a different post compared to what I have written in the past. Consider it a new “first post.” You know what I mean, the first post a blogger does when they start a blog, explaining what the content will be like and introducing themselves. That’s kind of what this will be, even though this blog has been around for a while now. June 18, 2014 was the original first post. Since that time, we have had over 300 posts published to the site and along the way, the style and content has evolved.

And along the way, I have grown Continue reading
