Lizy Cole-The Geeky Mormon

Me when I graduated from college

I am Elizabeth Cole, but I go by Liz or Lizy.  I am excited to be a part of the Geeky Mormon team. I was born and raised outside of San Antonio, Texas, and lived out in the country where it was a little too far to visit friends, so my siblings and I stayed at home and watched Star Wars and read Harry Potter. My dad is from northern Arizona and my mom is from Utah.  If you ask which parent I got my geek side from, it was probably my mother.  She is a die-hard Trekker and she also saw Star Wars: A New Hope in theaters nine times when it first opened in 1977.  When I graduated from high school I moved to Provo, Utah to go to my dream school, Brigham Young University.  I was in the Quill and Sword Medieval Reenactment Club there all four years, and I majored in English and minored in anthropology.  During my sophomore year I discovered the Avengers, and I was able to give my family back in Texas a good recommendation, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom helped us to stay close even though we were in a long-distance relationship.  My senior year at BYU I took a digital culture class and was able to find an excuse to study online fandom and delve deeper into the stories and worlds that I love. I am still currently in Provo where there are plenty of geeks to socialize with.

This is one of my latest hobbies: COSPLAY.  I know how to sew as well as to put together outfits from stuff I find a thrift stores.

May the Force Be With You,
